Macedonia's official motto is "The Crossroads of Northeast Ohio," and it earns the name. The city sits
roughly 20 miles from both downtown Cleveland and downtown Akron, which makes it a practical home base
for commuters, corporate relocations, and anyone who wants two metro job markets within a half hour.
The area was settled in the early 1800s, when a traveler's inn served the stagecoach route between
Pittsburgh and Cleveland and locals called the settlement "The Corners." The name Macedonia came from an
inside joke among divinity students at Western Reserve College in Hudson, referencing a verse in the
Bible's Acts. Today it is known as a safe, family-oriented suburb.
Lake Forest Estates is a planned community in Macedonia's southeast corner, with larger lots (many half
an acre or more), custom homes, two lakes, streams, and a nature preserve. The home at 1225 River Run Dr
sits on a 0.70-acre lot here, with mature trees and room to breathe.
